Mark Gallagher

Born in Glasgow, my early childhood was stable, happy and carefree. I have been a clerical worker, a salesman, a bicycle messenger and a games programmer. I left school at 16 and attempted to sign up as a pilot for the RAF. However, my short sightedness precluded me from being a fast jet pilot and so I did the next best thing, I became a bike messenger, terrorising the streets of Glasgow in my quest to become the fastest courier. A two year stint as a professional games programmer in the 1990s, saw me co-design and write a game which would get ripped off and become one of the biggest selling game franchises of all time.

A catastrophic near-death bicycle accident caused me to re-evaluate my life’s purpose, leading me to become an IT consultant, which has taken me all over the UK and Europe working for all manner of governmental and private sector organisations.

I live in Glasgow with my wife and two children.
